kense and Lord Byron returned to the Urban Dubz studio for lucky episode number 13. The sun was shining, the shorts were on and summer was in full effect. Opening up with some Dilla and neo-soul vibes, the music soon headed brukwards and featured new tracks from EVM128, fresh off the press.
This week we road-tested another one of the tracks we’ve been working on with Jeremy Sylvester, Munch and Paul H, as well as playing our usual style of broken beat, soulful house and UK garage. With Lord Byron and kense playing without a hype-man this week, they got chance to play some more vocal tracks, including new music from the Roska Kicks & Snares camp, Selectors Assemble, Dego & Thylord, as well as classic broken beat, garage and soulful house.
This week’s stream was dedicated to Colonel Red’s new EP ‘Rhyme Travelling’, released this week, and saw him perform some of the tracks live, as well as Lord Byron and kense bringing the usual Rogue Soul liveliness.
Lord Byron and kense were joined this week by Byron’s good friend and legendary local hype-man Superbamz, who added another dimension of entertainment to the show, while they played new music from the likes of EVM128, Kaidi Tatham, Alex Phountzi and Roska, and classic broken beat and garage from deep in the archives.
